I had a GREAT day of snowboarding with grace but I wanted to try the bigger hill and thought i'd be ok with some falls but I ate it and hit my head pretty hard! :roll: I had a helmet on but my head still hurts anyways I took my antibiotics (amoxicillin) and im on hycodane (cough suppressant) can I also take an extra strength advil? I don't like being hurt:(
 
If you hit your head falling you should probably be checked for concussion. That's how Natasha Richardson died.

I think you should go to ER.

I recommend go to the ER like Bott said, its always better to be safe than sorry. Hope it goes well at the docs.

oh.... yea....... I know the feeling.... I fell down very hard on my head while snowboarding last year. and..... I didn't have a helmet on cuz i was being cheap and cocky. That hurt pretty bad that I just laid there for a while and my friend came to me.

Correct, any type of concussion/trauma should be looked at ASAP. Red flags include unconsciousness for ANY period of time, building headache or sudden internal head pain, or any change in your senses (seeing stars, throbbing, etc). Alicia, GET UR BUTT TO THE ER NOW!

BTW, where did you get the anti-biotics? Do you have an open wound? :cool2:

im just hoping these antibiotics were not incorrectly Rx'd to you. Like everyone else said, you should get checked.
 
Aww poor you. have you ever black out for a long period of time? if you haven't thats good. Still going to see DR to play it safe such as right kind of medicine and check your head is still good.

Never take antibiotics that weren't prescribed to you or prescribed for a different medical condition in the past. In fact, anytime you are given antibiotics, you are to finish it, no exception. Also, you should be in the ER right now.
 
I am waiting right now to get it check :) and I never take prescriptions that aren't prescribed to me I'm on antibiotics that were prescribed to me on friday
 
Glad that you are getting medical care. Never wait to have a head injury evaluated. Never go to sleep until you are treated. Hope that it's nothing serious. Let us know how you're doing.

hope you feel better.

You should ask your doctor if it is safe to take Advil with those medications.
 
Sooo finally done at the hospital and as I suspected I have a concussion and need to take it easy for a few days :)
