Hi!
I'm thinking of getting a tattoo around my ear to show my love for my uniqueness of hearing loss! But i don't know where about to get it done and i dunno what type of tattoo to get done.
I'd like it to be small but a little noticeable!:)
thanks!

what kind of hearing loss do you have? what are you trying to represent with the tattoo?
i've found tons of tattoos with the asl "i love you", but i don't know if thats what you are looking for.

Maybe get the red circle with slash over your ear.

Maybe small tattoo say: "Volume set to zero" around the ear

The out of order one made me laugh.

Some people might think it your brain that out of order , you know some hearing
people think being deaf or HOH effect the brain. GRR!!

In this guys case, it works FOR him. His ear is noticeably deformed (or malformed) and the out of order above it says it all, he's deaf and he's got a sense of humor. Hey, wait! Those are some good male qualities right there! Where's Mr. Funnyear?

My guess is, the ear is surgically done, and if yes, it is amazing how it's done!
Just amazing!

I too think the "Out of Order" tattoo is the best :)
so witty :)

For me it's crystal clear the O-o-O pertains to the ear not the brain.
I dare say it's so for majority at least if not everyone.

Fuzzy

The "Out of Order" is awesome:lol:

The ILY is great, too. I wouldn't pick it, because you could never see it. Hair, HA, would be in the way.

Those are cute tattoos. That's a funny one with "Out of Order". Hehehe!

Make sure it's the tattoo you REALLY want because it's something permanent and something everyone can see (depending on where you put it).

If you're in a professional work environment, it would be wise to put it someplace that's not always visible or doesn't look "unprofessional" like behind the ear, on the back, etc.

I knew someone who got a tattoo of one thing because she was with friends and decided to get it "just for the hell of it". She later regretted it. She then got another tattoo (got one or two, planned to get a couple more to complete a "set"), but changed her mind about completing the "set". Later, she got a different tattoo (also part of a "set", which she planned to get later), but changed her mind again about completing the "set". I haven't seen her for a while, so I don't know if she ever did complete the "sets" or if she got any more... but seeing all those incompleted tattoos made it look awkward for her.

I'd hate for you to get a tattoo that you regret getting. :(

I am still having a hard time understanding why someone would love their hearing lost. I am not embarrassed of being HOH I just do not embrace it.

Wirelessly posted (droid)

Maybe our life's journey is to accept ourselves as we are. It takes courage to be the people we are.

I don't like putting "disabled" "broken" on a person... It propagates false perceptions.

Well, I wish I had something to let people know I cannot hear a sound on my right side. My right ear IS broken. My left is just cracked. :P

BTW Hannah, I have no idea of your age, but remember this; anything I might have tattoed on myself at age 20 would be an embarrassment to me now. Just saying.
