I cleaned up the DVDs that I dumped in one of box and I happen to take a look at this Terminator 2 DVD box... I remember a young actor, John Connor (Edward Furlong) in that movie.. Since he was a kid at that time and T2 is obviously a rated-R movie. Is he allowed to watch the movie...?

I couldn't come to that conclusion on my own, what about you? :dunno:

NO!! Children under 13 should not watch R rated movies but if youre over 13 You can watch an R rated movie what an adult who must show ID must be over 21 years old.
Same way if youre renting a movie must be over 18 to rent a R rated movie.

All kids should be allowed to watch R-rated movies... it's just a matter of getting their parents approval.

As long it not sexually , then they can watch ' R ' movies, I allow my children to watch scary movie if they want to,

Angel would you allow your kid watch this movie?

No....I don't think kids should watch R-rated movies. Some of the movies are just TOO graphic for them to handle. >_o

I'd wait til they are 14 and screen the R-rated movies before I let my kids see them. There are a bunch of R movies that HAS to be PG-13! And there are some PG-13 movies that HAS to be R! Screening them myself would be the best bet to protect my kids.

Well, It depends how bad the movie is, I let my 9 years old watched Passion of Christ; and did warned him it was a bloody movie, after seeing the movie he was fine but asked so much questions.

It's the same thing for video games, Yet that doesn't stop parents from buying it for their underage kids. It makes no sense that a parent will refuse to let their child watch a rated movies but let them play violent games. Kids are going to see some violent on the street in real world, you cannot protect them from every where they go even if at school. It's a fact.

Cheri in that case i suggest your son watch this movie.

The movie is ok but its about just how dirty politicans can be. Theyre do anything to make you vote for them.

I think you guys are missing the point...

he was actually asking IF child actors like Edward Furlong back in 1991 is allowed to see the R-rated movie that he was in...and of course, even if he was in it, then yeah of course he would know that there's gonna be alot of cussing and violence in it and he did cuss, as well so yeah he proably knows what's it gonna be rated before the rating system gives its a rating...in real life, Edward Furlong was actually around 17 in T2, even though he does look like a kid but hey...he's pretty short lol.

There are other child actors who did appear in R-rated films that has sex and nudity scenes and I'm not really sure if the child actors who appeared in their films are allowed to see that kind of part.

There aren't really many famous child actors anyway so it's kind of hard to come up with a perfect example of a film with a child actor that shows tons of drugs/violence and sex/nudity, etc...but I think they would allow child actors to watch films that only have cussing and violence but not the sex and nudity parts...lol

Whatever you do, Dont rent the movie BAD SANTA! It gives kids a bad impression about santa claus.

We shouldn't say no to ALL R-rated movies just because SOME are inappropriate.

What about Game Video? What about TV show like Jerry Springer? What about Movie Channel (HBO, MAX, Showtime, and PPV) with Sexually grapic? What about DVD/VHS movie? What about IRAQ War on CNN, and others? How can you prevent that? If you dont see children to watch movie, play game, or on tv if they are over other friend's house. Today is more and more Violent grapic on TV, DVD and Game Video. There is no Law to prevent but only Parents job to get Chip remote and not let them to watch. That s all parent can protect their own children as choice.

Yup, that's what I was asking for.

I am not sure why people answer my question differently. I was asking about young actors who acted in any rated 'R' movies are allowed to watch the rated 'R' movies that they are acted in. That's all.

But I don't mind your slightly different answers since you share your opinions that make me go 'hmm'.

Steel, ah yeah that's what I thought so. Young actors are allowed watch the movies that they acted in but about nudity scenes, good question...

Well, most likely if a child acts in an R-rated movie, he probably has his very own copy of that movie at home.

Child actors who played in R rated films i imagine also has seen the movie -- i mean wouldnt they have already known the story line and all that from their scripts qq

as for general public and children -- theyre not allowed in movies that are showing R rated flicks unless accompained by an adult

as for myself -- i watched many R rated movies when i was as young as 8 or so thereabouts and yea my folks knew -- viewings included some horror movies and they hadnt done any damage to me :dunno:

Well, I hope you'll be one of those parents that will talk about what's right and wrong after the movie. Won't you agree with me on this?

I mean, you let children watch whatever they want, but you want to know that they have the right idea in their mind about what's wrong and right. Ya know?

I remember an interview on tv about doing the JoAnn Bennet Ramsey movie about her life that the child goes through a psychological evaluation to see that they are okay in the show. Maybe that's the same with all star children?
