Jack - just to make things clear PM is "private message" so make sure that you PM Alex and ask to delete your membership (as well as this thread please!).

If you have just said here in this thread "Alex delete me", that's not a PM, it's a board post.

Private message Alex (through your "user CP")

chill out jack55 i did get that email too but just use common sense not to click it cuz it obviously fake email. the owner couldnt help it when that scam email happen cuz somehow there a glitch in forum and i am sure the owner is aware of it and will be try their best to fix it. so just calm down and talk with owner about this issue before you decide to delete it before you jump to conclusions.

I notice under User CP, edit options, this:

Quote:
Receive Email
From time to time, the administrators may want to send you email notices.

If you do not want to receive these notices, disable this option.
Receive Email from Administrators

You can allow other members to send you email messages.
Receive Email from Other Members

If you do not want to receive an email for each request of friendship, you may disable this option.
Receive Friendship Request Email
Perhaps it depends on which options are selected as to whether one gets the emails.

I knew it originated from AllDeaf.Com It had my user name. If not interested just delete. A cost recovery of running this forum.
As a Canadian why would I want to "borrow money at a high rate of interest" in the United States?

All from a member of 4 years that has done half their entire posting over this one subject. I wonder how he reacts to the generic Viagra and British Lottery emails?

That won't stop them. They are already swimming out there to retrieve it. Trust me, they know where it sunk.

For me - Admin - checked, Member - not checked, Friendship - checked.

I never got any e-mail from ACS or any scammers.

I unchecked on member since 2006 after got a lot of e-mail from Nigerian scammers that spammed my inbox.

OK, then it looks like I have to get really nasty here, cuss or whatever and maybe spam him to get it done then.
I was hoping some of my comments here would achieve that, but I'll step it up a bit.
What has a member done in the past to get banned here?

Too late. I have been distributing your email address from your signature to several Nigerian scam syndicates, along with Chinese and Russian mass spam hubs. Enjoy!

Just kidding! Thanks for playing!

I am not Jack55 though I mentioned I did receive the ad from Alldeaf.com. I don't think it is a "scam" just an ad as a cost recovery from this forum. If one isn't interested just delete.
Not exactly unknown in one's website of their computer.

Relax Jack 55 take five!

Mod note:

If anyone has gotten this e-mail of such thing, Alex would have announced in this forum to let members know. Therefore, there is no such thing and it could have been a scam. Once you sign up a forum, the e-mail will be exposed and is being sent to you for notification and/or contact info. If you don't want to have personal email to sign up for such website... I'd suggest to use separate email that can be used for forums and other "junk" websites that asks for email so your personal email will not get that many incoming unwanted email.

Just my thoughts.... so with that, this thread has served it's purposes and if you have any issue or questions regarding about this or AD matter, feel free to PM Alex.

Thanks.
