Thumbs up iPhone Case Uses Hearing Impaired Feature

My name is Terence Green, I've created an iPhone case that uses "LED Flash for Alerts" an iOS Accessibility Feature for the Hearing Impaired. Using the iPhone's camera flash, this feature strobes the camera flash every time you receive a notification on your iPhone. The only challenge is that your iPhone must lie face down in order for the flash to be visible, because the flash is on the back of the phone. My iPhone case which I've named FLASHr, allows the strobe effect to be seen in any orientation by lighting up the sides of the case. Here is a link to our current Kickstarter.com project and I've attached an image of FLASHr for your reference.

FLASHr: iOS LED Flash Notifications Case for iPhone 4/4s by Terence Green + Trey DeArk (Phaze5) — Kickstarter

A little bit of back story...

I make a living as a professional musician in New Orleans. I perform all over the country and sometimes I'm notified at the last minute about opportunities over the phone. About 5 months ago I had a sinus infection that caused severe ear pressure, and greatly impaired my hearing. As a musician, who's never had hearing problems, I found my profession very challenging. I missed gigs due to many missed phone calls, texts, and emails. I learned about a feature on the iPhone called "LED Flash for Alerts" that I thought would help with my problem. With this feature enabled, it allowed for the iPhone's LED flash to be used as a notification light. There was one big problem. It was on the back of the phone, which made it pretty much useless. This sparked me to think of ways to utilize this feature in a more efficient way. So I came up with the idea to make a case. Together with my friend Trey, a mechanical designer, we were able to turn this idea into a reality. As I mentioned before the case is called FLASHr and it's on Kickstarter.com right now. We need your help to spread the word about our campaign for funding to make this project a reality. Although this case would make anyone's notifications more visible, I feel as though this community could benefit from something like the Flashr case, even if the aren't visiting the gadget sites to learn about it. I've posted a link to the project below. Please spread the word and feel free to re-post the link.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Sincerely,
Terence Green

Cool! Nice choices of color...great accessory for deaf iPhone owners

If you can upload your video to Youtube, why don't you try DeafVIDEO.TV where alot of deaf people view?

You can also try iDeaf News, Deaf Newspaper and Deaf Tech News to promote your great product.

If I had iPhone 4/4s, I would order one or two.

Thanks for posting it.

PS Have you heard about DeafNation World Expo? You may be interested to participate.

Forget other cell phones, please focus on iPhone case, make it HAPPEN!

iPhone5 will be on shelves on Sept 21, do you think cases will be added to fit iphone5 design?

Read FAQ "iPhone 5 version available?" on the bottom of the page in the link. So it depends on the new design.

Yeah, I am off work this week so... BTW, FAQ usually have important informations. I always look it up to see if they have my question answered. If not, then I would email my new question to them.

Great ap
Useful and I bet it would even appeal to hearing people. I would try and market for them too as just a novel feature

Just one bit of advise, we are Deaf or Hard of Hearing but not hearing impaired. "applies to those of us who are Culturally Deaf and us Sign Language as a primary language.

Also as Kickstarter shows funding goal not met, what does that mean. are you still going to make the product?
