I really wanted to title this....Sick Totally Sick.

The local MM are reporting on the news and in the newspaper about a mother who is being accused and charged with killing her 5 year old daughter. The sick part is this girl weighed 24 pounds and was 5 years old. However, there is much more to this story. The woman is mother to at total of 10 children, including her dead daughter, with a range from 21 years old to 2 months old. She lives in a 500 square foot one-bedroom apartment unit with a total of 15 people living together. Her 21 year olds daughter is herself the mother of 4 children, range of age is 5 years old to 10 months.
The family had a history with CPS and relatives knew of the living situation of this woman and her daughter. Sick and Crazy is the only way to look and feel about this situation of the girls death. Charges against the mother have not yet been finalized but she most likely will face the death penalty because she has, supposed, confessed to family members and to the police of killing her daughter.

In America we can not legislate nor mandate reproduction but this woman and her husband are poster childs for what is nothing more that irresponsible behavior.
Right now CPS has taken all the minor children into custody....guess who is paying for their care. Right, the taxpayers. Perhaps soon MM will report on this family's
history and we will find out more about foods stamps, medical care, etc. We can be sure that we, the tax payers, were paying most, if not all, of the expenses.

I realize this is an extreme case but there really are none that are not. America needs a strong leader to stand up, with guts and not to worry whom gets hurt by words, and speak out about irresponsible behavior. Children just can not be allowed to grow up in such a destructive environment that could cause their death.

In reply to the OP, are you connecting the dots from this situation to Obama, and only Obama? That is quite a stretch. I think these kinds of things occur all the time, under all kinds of Presidents.

Most certainly....

Go back, read the O.P. twice and let us all know if you find the word "Obama" in the O.P.

why "local MM" instead of "news"?

Because it is here locally on all the television networks as a lead-in story and a front page item of the only newspaper, also I don't know of it has gone national.

From your post:

Not too difficult to see where you were going with this.

Eh, somebody tell me why it's NOT a good idea to legislate reproduction. (I am not saying that I think it should be done. I just want to hear the case against it.) Seems to me such action would cut down on situations like this, which are rampant.

I'm on your side because I think common sense tels us people are thinking with the wrong brain. However, it would be impossible to legislate sex. However again, it would be possible to tie assistance to responsible behavior.
Example: Teenage girls who are unmarried and pg. could get assistance only after they reveal the name of the baby's daddy. Then that baby daddy will be notified he has no choice but to pay for the assistance given his child. Then the assistance become like a loan where both of the parents would split 50/50 the repayment of the cost of assistance for however long it takes to pay back the amount of assistance (no interest charged). If people had this hanging over their head, they would be wise to think twice with the right brain.

In Holland, teens are promiscuous yet that country has the lowest teen birth and teen abortion rates in the world. Maybe USA could learn something from this country and apply it to their own teen motherhood issues.

I actually  'd when I saw the Crazy Totally Crazy title and then saw the username below. Sorry, I couldn't help it.

Eh. Why not put a cop in each home? That would cut down on a lot of pregnancies and GREATLY reduce crime, thereby saving us billions. :|
