Fake Sign Language Interpreter at Nelson Mandela memorial

There's a fake sign language interpreter who appears to be mocking the Deaf at the memorial honoring Nelson Mandela. This man ought to be shamed for what he did to the Deaf in South Africa.

I saw this on the tv news yesterday and noticed he signed repeated same way of signing. i was like huh its for real or something. I didnt realize that it was fake. oh my god.

That's terrible - would they do that for any other language? Doubt it...
 
I read that story and I just want to take that guy, lock him up in a little room, no cell phone, no internet, no TV, no books, no magazines, nothing. No human contact with any useable communication.

And once in a while I'd send someone into the room and they'd start talking to him. They'd say something like

"Grmphilipttsa fngloopy deerintoridlos bik foo eh eh eh eh."

And go on like that.

See how he likes it.

I just saw this on the news today, and I think is very insulting. It would be the same as someone translating a person by speaking a fake language .

Right. Suppose a voicing interpreter stood there saying, "blah, blah, blah?" :shock:
 
Sad... Nelson Mandela fought to end oppression , yet SA govt oppressed and insulted Deaf people by putting a fake interpreter on stage in front of million people. :shock:
 
I have yet to see what it is that makes this guy a fake interpreter. Help me.....maybe this guy is representing one of the tribes whose sign language is very limited.......:dunno:
 
Staff1: "Oh no! Our interpreter got sick! Where should we find another one?"
Staff2: "No worry! I know someone.... HEY janitor! Do you know sign language?"
Jantior: "Me? No English"
Staff2: "Perfect!"

I wonder if SNL will have this on for a skit . They love have fun things like this. I saw it on the news again and people in South Africa are not saying
if it fake or not.
