Kutaragi on 360, Wii: "We don't care"
Despite admitting PS3 production problems, Sony Computer Entertainment president says he's not concerned about the next-gen competition.

Last week Sony Computer Entertainment president Ken Kutaragi delivered the keynote address at the 2006 Tokyo Game Show. As usual, he appeared confident, laying out his long-term vision for how the PlayStation 3 will take over many functions traditionally performed by the PC.

As for the PlayStation 3 launch, Kutaragi let Sony Computer Entertainment America president Kaz Hirai lay down the nuts in bolts in a video interview with GameSpot. However, the so-called "Father of the PlayStation," whose English is limited, did speak very briefly with British trade magazine MCV about the looming next-gen conflict.

When asked his opinion of the PS3's competitors, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Nintendo's Wii, Kutaragi was blunt. "We don't care," he flatly told the trade.

But while he was confident about the PS3's chances, the executive also admitted that the console's launch was not exactly going according to plan. "Right now ... we can't manufacture enough blue laser diodes for our PlayStation 3s," he said, "But we will resolve that."

Blu-ray diode production problems pushed back the PS3's European launch to March 2007. The console is still set to go on sale in Japan November 11 and in North America November 17. However, its day-one inventory has been drastically cut from 2 million units to just 100,000 units in Japan and 400,000 units in the US and Canada.

If Sony "dont care" then I wonder why they copied the motion sensor from Nintendo and the two console versions and the achievements from MS...obvioulsy Sony is afraid to lose.

That's BS, Sony introduced new motion sensor in 1999 since Nintendo don't introduce until around 2005 then that means Nintendo copied Sony for motion sensor. I did posted other link in last 2 month ago then you must be misunderstood.

I dont think so...
Playstation was start after Nintendo ask Sony to developing the CD-drive for next generation console because Sony was one of best companies in CD drives. But Nintendo found out Sony would own all games and consoles if they're released in their products so they cancelled the contact and changed CDs to cartridges on N64. Sony decided to take project far into new console called PlayStation (PS1). PlayStation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Sony is preying on other companies' ideas and products, only caring about profiles more than customers.

Warioware Twisted! is only Nintendo GBA game with built-in motion sensor. My nephew had that game.

Also, Nintendo had Game Boy Camera for Game Boy Color and Sega's DreamEye for Dreamcast before Sony come up with EyeToy.

PS3 controller is old news.

Sony staffs dont' care as their pant is actual drop down or show zip fly. wiiii!

It does same with Wiimote is old news because of motion sensor.

There's proof about motion sensor in 1999
Video Proof: PS3 Controller Technology Is Very Old

Sony was dropped motion sensor feature out due interfere with rumble and it was introduced for PS1.

That controller was Pelican, a third-party hardware company not Sony.
Sony drop the rumble motors because of lawsuits from company who developing the rumble features. That's what Sony get from stealing the ideas and products. Or try reduce the controller hardware costs so Sony uses them on Blu-Ray hardwares.

Wiimote has motion sensors which read the moves in 3D. Wii use Bluetooth-powered sensor bar, could be put under the TV, for Wiimotes, samilar to Zapper, R.O.B., Power Glove, and Super Scope. PS3 had limited motion sensors like tilts or turns. Sony said PS3 support 7 controllers. How the heck PS3 could fit 7 screens into single screen?!?

Yea but Sony did introduced new motion sensor for PS1, as first party controller and it went dropped out due interfere with rumble feature, also never made official to release in all retail and same problem went on few games that was cancelled, never release on system. If successful in last several years ago then motion sensor feature would went on PS2 controller but never happen.

You don't get it but who cares about move? "motion sensor" for Wii is old news too.

Sony was started developed new CD add-on for Super Nintendo then Nintendo denied them for some reason beause Nintendo love to make cartridge on Super Nintendo and sold for CD on Sega Genesis looks poorly, also not good. Nintendo had good chance to make cartridge on Nintendo, that good but limited MB and their machine is powerful than PS1.

Then I wonder why Nintendo got its hands full with on the full motion sensing than with the PS3. It's not very motion sensing as the Wii controller is anyway so...it's just not that interesting as Wii is.

true i do agree with ya on what u are saying abt sony...i admit that i am huge fan of sony since they did made ps2 but for ps3 geez i cant believe that they actually screw up

I don't need full motion sensor (100%) for PS3 because Wii is weird console to me, only in my opinion. I like half motion sensor (50%), such as tilt to turn, up, down and other direction.
