Whats wrong with AMD Athlon 64? Its only 1 of 2 CPU versions using true 64 bit platform, other was Intel Xeon. The rest is just 32 bits, and will be outdated in no time!

Yeah I think I did made a very smart move when I bought my laptop a month ago. I originally considered getting a P4 with HT, but looking at the Athlon 64, I figured why not just get the AMD now and save me a couple headaches down the road when the 64 bit version of Windows comes up.

Hell, the Athlon 64 has to be the best CPU I ever messed with even though its a DTR laptop version :)

I have hundreds of Floppies, I dunno whadda me do with these junk! some of them already have dust on them. I burned on CD, and DVD... man! they are far better than floppies as well

They make great coasters. I seen bars use old floppies as coasters. The same for the AOL CD's that pop in your mailbox, magazines, whatever.

Yup, that is exact why I ended up bought my HP PC right off shelve. It has AMD Athlon 64 running off 1600MHZ bus speed. The fastest bus speed on Intel is only 800MHZ

In fact, Intel works so well for business where they have to crunch numbers. Intel uses Integer point in their CPU while AMD is great for gamers, and graphic intensive as AMD uses floating point in their CPU. So, really it all depends on why you need PC for.

I already have two dream computers:)

Dell PowerEdge SC420 ($399, yes, my family picked server based PC and XP works well)

PowerMac G4

I might be upgrading the PC to 64-bit technology, but I am happy with 2.8GHz Intel Processor 4
