I got to sign with a Deaf man today at Wal-mart, and I actually initiated the conversation and he was really friendly and easy to sign with and it made me really happy. I hadn't talked to too many people in the Deaf community lately because I hadn't really found too many people, but it makes me want to keep working on my degree even harder now. He was funny, made a lot of jokes, and even the cashier I had knew some ASL which she said she wanted to get into it, and I told her where to go to get the education. I am so HAPPY and surprised that I carried on a conversation in ASL for once without being nervous, and that means that I can do what I want to achieve with my education. My fiancee' was so impressed that he wants to learn more sign language now. How awesome is that? I think it rules.
