Okay, here's the deal. Gmail has 15 GB for storage for e-mails and stuff, which itself is cool, but what does Yahoo Mail have? 1 TB of e-mail storage. Now that is a LOT.

Now my question is, which would you rather pick? Yahoo Mail or Gmail?

Do you "Yahoo"?....

If you mean do I chat on-line, not as often as I would like. I mainly use it for e-mails, and that's about it. Used to chat on Google Talk a lot back then, well before I found this site.

Yahoo is really ABC and I don't know who does the development for them now. Google is responsible for Gmail and I think Google is one of the more invasive engines out there.

In the end, they're probably all as creepily invasive but my gmail account will end one day. I have to let my dad's trust settle longer and then it will be toast. No matter where ya go, your mail will be monitored for keywords.

What I really meant was....I prefer "Yahoo"....and the saying..."Do you "Yahoo"?.......Ya-hooo-hoo"...Yes, I do.

I can answer that. It's an ex-employee of Google who's doing the development for them. It's a woman, but forgot the name. I do know they lured her there for not only the pay, but a better chance to do something.

Man, Chicago, you worked for Google AS A DEVELOPER. On one hand I think, "How cool is that!?" But on the other hand ick :) . At least you know what's going on there to a certain extent. So, I hold your abilities in high esteem and I'd like to kick ya in the knees. Seriously, what a frickin' (not a bad word) ride you must've had. Kudos. Now would you bring them down? They're scary!

Yeah, a better chance to invade our lives.

Nope, never worked there. They're in California, and I'm an Illinois boy, born and raised. I do not have any intentions of ever setting foot in that state, and how I know is because I saw something in the news about it a few months back-- might've been last summer, or before. And I do not have a degree in web development, either, which is required. :)

I have email accounts with Yahoo and Gmail. My school account is Gmail. I don't need tons of storage because I don't keep all my emails.

Neither do I-- takes forever to dig through older e-mails.

I use Gmail. I also keep deleting "old emails."
Supposedly using less than 1%

I switched over to using my Gmail more when I wasn't getting important emails in my yahoo account (I was in constant contact with the CI center in Colorado getting my surgery date and all that jazz figured out, but Yahoo kept messing up and would never send my responses or give me the emails from the center, rrrrrrrr). No issues with Gmail delaying/blocking emails.

I use Gmail and never have any issue with it and does good job handling junk e-mails that I don't want to see. :)

Same here. Speaking of which, I was viewing an old thread about this topic, and I happened to see two spam e-mails in that folder on Gmail, and I checked to see who might've e-mailed me, and sure enough, there were the e-mails the thread had talked about, so I tossed them. Thanks to that thread, I did not fall for it.

Most e-mails have spams and just like telemarketers who call people for soliciting. So far Gmail have a very good spam filtrations.

They sure do, and getting better. I've had to close and open new accounts in the past. In fact, my old Gmail account lasted more than 5 years before someone got a hold of it, and now I have a password that's basically hard to guess, and I like it like that now, but I ought to change it, since it's from last year. I'll have to think of a new one soon.

I hardly use Yahoo those days. I get much, much less junk E mails with Gmail as opposed to Yahoo or AOL. I don't need that much spaces. If space becomes a problem, I would prefer to have 2 Gmails than 1 Yahoo.

Since I was the Trustee of my dad's stuff for count 'em 4.5 years, gmail remains. I have a lot of the nasty exchanges between one sister and me somewhere in an online folder. But, I guess I can let the account go after I resign as the owners assoc. Treas. this year. Thanks for waking me up to see the light.

Yeah, they do (have good Spam filtration as does Outlook - another baddie to me) but they were the first to tailor ads for just you and they were also the first to add to your email in progress, "Do you want to add xxx, and yyy, and your mother?"

Ugh.
