Would you rather know, or not?

i sometimes have friends telling me different versions of situations we experienced that i missed out on because i didn't hear something going on. for instance (although this has never happened in particular), i'm busy doing something attentively, and someone calls me from behind and starts talking to me, as witnessed by a friend, but i don't notice/respond because i didn't hear anything. a while later, said witnessing friend informs me of this person trying to talk to me. would you rather find out about these situations from other people later, or not have people tell you about them at all? do you consider them "learning experiences"? i don't know what i'm supposed to think when a friend randomly tells me that i missed something unimportant.

I think being naive is bliss!

In others words, I would rather not know what I missed. Being told later makes me feel bad/sad that I didn't hear it KWIM??

Although, if it is important and I NEED to know - that is a different story

KWIM?
