.. if indeed in the future deafness was completely erased?

I am pretty sure the deaf community rejects CI so much because CI may give some an impression that slowly there will be less and less culturally deaf people more oral CI-ers,
and only a few truly deaf will remain- feeling abandoned, rejected, cast aside.

While I AM SURE this will NOT gonna ever happen with CI, it occured to me what if one day indeed the cure, a real cure, will be found for deafness- what then?
will you be sorry there is no more deaf people?

mind you, this is different from my other thread where I asked "would you like to be cured".
Here I am asking- would that be bad, if no more deafness?

That is true, but there is plenty of other forums where hearing people may belong to.
We are here joined by one common factor mainly- deafness.
hearing people have 'common factors' too.

You and I may still belong to some forum that we both like. It just wont be because of deafness anymore. And we still be the same people - just hearing people..
