Worcester man charged with assaulting deaf Natick woman on train - Framingham, MA - The MetroWest Daily News

A Worcester man accused of assaulting a deaf woman on an MBTA commuter train in Natick on Wednesday pleaded not guilty at his Framingham District Court arraignment today.

Ramzi Rezgui, 28, of 701 Main St., was arrested at 3:30 p.m. after the disturbance on the train, police said. He was ordered held on $5,000 bail and is due back in court on Aug. 30.

Rezgui was charged with assault and battery on a disabled person and disturbing the peace. He also had a Worcester District Court warrant that charged him with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Train service was delayed for about 25 minutes, police said. The victim, a 24-year-old Natick woman who is deaf, was not injured.

Rezgui was held overnight at the Natick Police Station pending today's arraignment.

Maybe he wanted to make conversation while waiting for the train to start as the train service was delayed. She was not responding to him at all. That is my thinking of what might happen on the train. I am glad that a deaf woman was not hurt. He should have his radio transmitter or iPod to listen to the music if he is not deaf. Go figure.
