it is because their are still weak or not strong enough.

men show emotions, not sure what you mean by being weak? men show emotions too,

ohhh, simple...men are like mascara. they run at the first sign of emotion. :giggle:

kidding aside....men do have emotions. the older generation was taught to keep their emotions bottled up inside because it is not cool to see men cry. but, i notice that the younger generation of men are showing more emotions. of course, it depends on the individual guy and how they were raised to deal with emotions.

I honestly like it when Men shows their emotions. To me, that shows their courage and strength. But Men were raised not to show their emotions so therefore they're afraid to show their emotions, to be laughed at by us women.

It would be great if more men really show what they are feeling. I think it would make men and women more in tune with each other, JMO.

Not all men are that way, it's not in their genders. I supposed it's the way they were brought up. :dunno:

Some men are made out of steel. But, you know some people say that men who show emotions are weak, but not to me. I love it when men show more of their emotions than none or a little.

Sure, We all know that both genders are different when it comes to logic and emotions.

Like many others says, Some of the men were taught to hold in their emotions and to be "strong" or have a sense of pride to himself. Some of them were taught not to cry front of anyone, so and on.

Where as with the women, we know that women are more of geared towards emotions, logically that is. Women are usually taught to be in touch with everything that comes their way.

But again, of course it all matters on how that person was brought up.

Also another reason I think why of this is because - Girls are usually maturing a bit far ahead than boys. When these boys becomes men, That is when most of the time it will be caught up.

I guess you don't me then... I am a man and I am full of emotions... I may not show them to someone before I get to know them... but when they know me.. I maybe just as emotional or more emotional than women.. I am straight, so that can rule out that concern..

Whaaat? *sobbing* you hurt my feel. How dare you break my heart and my brain. Stop that! Waah waah *running away like girly*

ah, it's not in their gender. Gender is not the physiological aspect, sex describe the body difference. Gender is the socially constructed assumption. Sexuality is again a different thing all together (its more about courting and securing partners).
Not all women seeks to find male emotions, there are a lot of women who crave 'macho' harden up males. One might say its dependent on many variable, one such being the way women were brought up, as well as how she was socialised outside home. By same token men might prefer a sort of woman over another, such as seeking approvals, or seeking physical strength over all else. Again, it takes time to get the real person, you cant force a person to reveal who they are until it's safe or well. I guess some people are better at doing this in shorter span of time, but again those are 'people's person have their own issues, quite often they are not what they seem. Its just they have better 'communication management skills' in the public life, this applies equally (but differently) to both male and female.
Gender and sex are not the same thing, and in the same way that people confuse the interchangable use of terms 'disability' and 'impairment' you noticed that? and go a little further, you would also notice this 'confusion' does a terrific job to stall any progress in educating society about the real matters concerning people with disability. So in a round about way, this confusion does serves to keep the genderised society to be deviated in a certain way that is 'supposely' to do with 'sex', then coming back to this thread's topic, all this stereotyping about men being with emotion is still strong. Films, TV, and reading materials often recycle these ideas, and 'pushing' those expectations to be 'understood' in that 'one way of thinking' that women are 'emotional beings' or 'nuturing beings' (think motherhood, nurses (always under supervisions of (mostly) male doctors) or 'finely balanced/graceful being (think Ice skating, ballet, gymnastics) and that men are 'thinking beings' or 'strength beings' (think scientists, architects, designers, builders, armed forces officers). So its all that tied up, and you can see how it all reproduce those ideas that 'men can't cry'.

any no more reply? im interested in some of your reaction to my post, because i do know this is different, but it is also there as been some confirmed studies which found and or has these been rather hotly debated. I like it though social constructed because that's exactly what it is in the same way as how hearing people make quick judgement/assessment of you at first encounter (or prolonged as many are difficult people) based on assumptions which instructs them to think you (d/Deaf) are somewhat lower classed than hearing.

Are you really seriouse ?? really I understand that sometime any man does like that on way. My boyfriend alreadybroken up with me last month ago oh well that was soo long story. Bad attitudes of him jerk!!!:mad:

I think it also depends on what emotion but I know men show emotions too and that gender has nothing to do with it. I feel that it's okay to cry when laughing or being happy but I feel that if someone cries because something bad happened such as loosing a home, someone, or just because they're sad. Suck it up and move on. Seriously, sitting there and crying isn't going to get things done.

As Grummer has stated, there is a strong sociological aspect to it.

Whenever I watch an action move with a lead male actor, he's usually blunt, fearless, and has the tough guy mentality.

Personally, I would not cry in public, since it draws other people's attention towards me, which makes me feel uncomfortable.
