I was curious to know what others' fields were and if there's any patterns. Some people have told me that the majority of deaf males at MIT went into computer science - that would include me, one other guy who graduated last semester, and people from previous years. I got into computer science because I like the idea of building logic/algorithms from scratch and the feeling of power you get when everything works according to plan :D

So, what field are you in? How did you get interested in it?

Poker player, started gambling when i was 11 years old. Never looked back.

Now I'm looking into starting my own distillery.

My major was my family. My field of interest was nursing. Couldn't handle the nursing and now I don't work. Never went to college.

Uh-oh, your own distillery to spread your "disgusting-ness" to the rest of the world and seduce innocent women with your tempting alcohols and beer belly. Gotcha, PFH ^_^''

My current major is Course 12: Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences...considering Course 11: Urban Studies and Planning as well, as per OP's question. :P

Oh yes, my beer belly does wonders with seducing women.

Indeed it does, since your belly does induce subconscious thoughts in women that you will be a future, dear ol jolly Santa Claus who gives outs "presents" and wishes :P :P ROFLMAO!

do you care if we are done, post graduated?

Major/career- nursing; thats no secret
Field of interest- sports :D

My major was in the Allied Health Division studying radiologic technology and was planning on furthering that with a specialized degree as an MRI tech.

Well that didnt go according to plan as i went almost completely deaf over the summer. So I had to drop out because the school was "helping" me but all that my teachers would do was tell me to set at the front of the room. Needless to say when I start back, i wont be going to that school anymore

Well, I've started out as an English major, then liberal arts, then fine arts, then graphic design. I remember wanted to be a photography major but the NTID photography dept rejected me because I was late the first day. I got lost looking for my class.

When I was a kid, I was so mesmerized with earthquakes, because of my dad's job. I was obsessed with equine anatomy, and tried to convince my parents a few times that I want to dissect it. I was around nine year old at the time. I was torn between an equine specialist and a seismologist. Took some geology courses until I was hooked on art history courses. I have way too many oversized art history books now. I have two more years to get my degree. My art history interest does not stop me from looking up the USGS earthquake website, reading earthquake/seismology books, and animal nutrition/dermatology.
