What's the first thing you have ever won?

Tell your story, short or long, how you won something for the first time.

My story - The first time I won something in my life was when I went shopping with my mom about 12 years ago. We went to ClothWorld which later on became either Hancock Fabrics or Joann's Fabrics. Any way, she wanted to get some fabrics and DMC floss. While she was browsing the store, I came up to the table where they were holding drawings every hour. So, I filled a form out and crumpled it, then put it through the slot. I went back to browsing fabrics, bored out of my mind. Finally, I got tired of waiting and went to look for my mom in her usual spot. I couldn't find her and turned around to the front of the store. I saw mom with her eyes wide open, looking at me and mouthed, "You won $100 dollars!! It's a gift certificate!" I left the store with bundles of fabric and a few dollars in change.
 
During the Time I was on the Roads we had a night off after tearing down. Erin another rib crew and I went out at the Casino and played one game... I put $10.00 in one machine which a 25 cent... in 5 mins I won $214.00 I started screaming ( I won I won!!) This Lady looked at me and said how much? and I told her 214.00 and she was looking at me werid in a way I'm all excite over $214.00 but, Honestly I was so Happy that I have never won anything in my Life before even that much money....So I went to cash in the ticket and this lady said how do u want the money in 20's or 100's I was like (Jumping up and down) all 100's baby! LOL! Erin was soo happy for me the same time she was mad cuz she wanted to win too but, I kept crossing my fingers for her to win but no luck.. Sorry.. maybe next time she will get lucky as me...
 
Yeah, I won on a 'Blackout' game in Bingo -- won $1,000 and then played the one arm bandit here in Australia at the Crown Casino -- won $200.00 :D
 
I only won $50.00 over a lottery game card....It would be nice to win much more but I haven't had any luck lately... :aw:
 
I don't really remember the first thing I won, but I do remember a few things.

When I was in 7 years old, I won a watergun game at Six Flags. I won so many times that I kept trading in my prize for something bigger. I finally won the big Donkey Kong stuffed animal. Hehehe!

The other thing I won was when I was at a local arcade. There was this token machine. What you do is drop a token in the machine and the slider will move causing the token to land on it. When it slides back, it pushes the token to the other tokens and causes it to fall. In the process, if done correctly... you can knock down a few tokens. For me, I had knocked off 2 tokens. As a result, I was supposed to get 2 ticket-tokens. Each ticket-token is worth 5 tickets. Anyway, nothing came out and I got pissed off. I kicked the machine once, and suddenly... an almost endless supply of ticket-tokens came pouring out! It kept coming and coming! I took them out and filled my pant pockets, jacket pockets, etc. By the time the machine stopped, I had earned 5,000 tickets worth! I was about 13 years old at that time. Hehehe!
 
what I won

I was visiting some people in Toronto, I had a bad cold so I decided to stop at Tim Hortons for some hot chocolate. It was when they had their roll up the rim cups. After finishing my cup, I went to throw it out and my friend stoped me and told me to roll up the rim. So not thinking much of it i pulled the rim back to see that I had won the coffee maker. My friend was so excited for me, but lol, I wasnt too excited since I dont even drink coffee. I gave the machine to my dad, he loves it. But it would have been nice to win something I can use LOL...

well thats my story of when I first won something !!!
 
I was 11 when I won a pair of tickets to a Mets game. I gave 'em to my dad. Thought they were a "boy" prize and I was a little pissed off that they were for a baseball game and not to see some animated movie that might have been playing at the time. ;)
 
I was joining Deaf group to play the daily lottery. I paid ten dollars for the first time. I was not paying any attention to the T.V. daily due to busy with other things to do. My grandmother was staying with us for ten days during Christmas.

I was poverty that year because I had to pay huge heat oil and car repair. Anyway, the guy called me at 8am in the morning on December 23rd. He said, "congrats - you won 1,400 dollars on their Deaf group lottery". I thought, he was joking but I was wrong. I went to seeing him and his wife. He gave me cash of $1,400 dollars in my hand. I was shocked and thrilled because I did not have anything Christmas presents for my two sons.

I went to shopping right after I got $1,400 dollars to buy the gifts and food for two boys and family. It was the best Christmas ever I had in 1994.

oh yea.. i went casino in 2000 first time... i won $25.00 cute at wheel of fortune... hehehehe!!! :mrgreen:
 
I am unlucky, I haven't won anything .....yet :roll:

But I have won the love of my partner - that is jackpot!!
 
last Saturday night at LLC Mystery Party, of course I won being the best costume at the party... I'll show the pics to y'll when I get it ;)
 
Horse races

I don't win big but there is one thing I remember. A friend whose husband co-owns a horse and often put horse in the races. I went with this friend andit happened to be a deaf event at Los Alamitos.
No, that horse was not in that day.
On that day, I learned a thing or two about horse racing and won $45 dollars. I had fun that day so that is important.
