What is the most important thing to Deaf people in the Deaf culture? The second? the third and so on/

1. ASL
2. Lack of discrimination
3. Acceptance of ASL as a language and Deaf Culture as a separate and distinct culture by those who can hear.

Judging by the posters in this thread so far... how about actual Deaf people? OOOOOOOO That's right, I went there.

What is most important to one may not be important to another.

Deaf or Hearing. Everyone is different and have different priorities on what is important to them.

Me personally. My kids and my family are the most important thing to me.

The most important thing is for people to be Deaf militants!

Just kidding...I agree with Babyblue.

For me, I just want to be around people whom I can easily communicate with and feel connected instead of feeling like a social outcast.

Yeah but the MOST important thing to me. Is what I responded to.

The priorities goes down the line. The most to the least.

Socializing is one of my upper ones. People come and go. Family don't.

That is what is important to me regarding to Deaf culture.

What's important to me personally has nothing to do with Deaf culture which are my family, job, health, and shelter.

I understand.

Again, people have different priorities. Mine is my family. :)

Regardless of culture.

I thought the topic was asking what was important to us regarding Deaf culture.
