I know that there is a Deaf culture, and that culturally Deaf people use ASL and have a non-pathologized view of d/Deafness, and that Deaf people tend to suggest involvement in Deaf culture as beneficial for audiologically deaf and hard of hearing people... but that's about all I know so far. What else characterizes Deaf culture, besides using ASL and usually being deaf or hard of hearing? Does it have its own nuances of body language? Idioms? Politeness? What don't I know?

Look around here and Google for Deaf Culture information and there will be plenty of answers

Well, find someoen who is deaf who would like to hang out with you. You would find out through them.

I find it odd that a hearing person would capitalize D for 'deaf'. Do you consider yourself as inferior? ;) just kidding

We (hearing ASL students) are taught to capitalize the D for culturally Deaf people.

(in fact, generally speaking the small 'd' is only used for deafness in the medical/pathological context)
