....if there is "some nerve connection" between the ear and the heart, and he said there is not.
So I guess accidently cutting nerves in the EAR during removal of old CI would not be the reason of a heart failure.

Any surgery, especially the anesthesia, can increase the risk of cardiac complications, but that would probably happen during or immediately after the surgery if at all.
 
What you wrote Morrigan is very true but I asked specifically if cutting any nerves in the inner ear would cause a heart failure, and I was told no.
I wasn't able to ask anything else 'cos the dr was in a hurry.
