Wanting to learn ASL

Hello. My name is Amber, and I am going to school to be a child psychologist. I want to be able to help all children, even those who are deaf; however, I cannot communicate fluently with them. Sign Language is very beautiful, and I would really love to learn it before I am finished with school and have a job. I do not know any deaf people around where I live; therefore, I have no one to be friends with or practice with. I am really hoping this site can help me. Thank you.
 
Wait patiently. Those folks may be busy celebrating Alabama's 42-14 win over Notre Dame. When it dies down, maybe you will have a friend to help you with ASL.
 
Even when there is no football going on, I still do not know any one around here that signs.

A few novice and beginner signers have created a hangout on Google + where we are going to start using webcam to get to know each other. Come check out the page and maybe join us for our first webcam hang out!
