Just vote, Do you use VP a lot?
Why or Why not?
Why or Why not?
LOL I have it but never used it and it got lots of dusts. It seems to me that i have problem with cable on and off that causes my VP messes up with my IP computer but i have not used it for about 5 years now. I dont miss VP at home. I just got a new VP at work. It is not bad. I wish I had the same kind of cisco stuff for home.
I have used VP ALL the time since 2003. I rarely have problem with it.
VP saves alot of time in every calls. Also, noticed less misunderstand with VP than text based.
Most problems lies to firewall issues and cabling too. IP address have nothing to do with many problems that Deaf have. IP address is pretty much like a number on your house and it has no function value in it.
really sorenson causes my computer to lose it all the time. i looked up and saw the IP number was different so i resert it then i lost it. SO i removed sorsenon then my computer is fine. i dont know what happened. the tech guy came here like 10 times. I gave up.
When I had a deaf roommate years ago, his VP
cable messed up the computer and wireless connection -- it was forever disconnecting. So frustrating. Had our IP provider (comcast back then) come out several times plus VP rep, could never solve the problem. Now that he doesn't live here anymore, PERFECT wireless connection all the time.
Not enough information really, there are several questions I have. For instance do your roommate add router of same brand? Does both router have same network ID? If that is the case, then the solution is to change network ID on one of these two routers and viola problem solved. Does that roomate tried to use same host ID as other host? If that is the case, guarantee you will see problem and struggling to solve the problem. Simple rule, no two or more hosts can have identical host ID.
There are rules to follow when assigned ID on each machines, often I see there rules are broken, and VP gets blamed on, or so called roommate gets blamed on.
I don't know anymore. Both Comcast and VP rep tried to fix the issues, both hardware and software. Nothing ever worked. He doesn't live here anymore, hasn't in years, so there's no VP here anymore. It's a moot issue now.

It was not your fault. Which tech guy? ISP or VP? IF VP then it was his/her fault for poor job.
