How about recording what you are not understanding so you can listen to it at your leisure and treat it as you would the lessons from your instructor. and during your tutoring session once you have it recorded you would just move on and go back to that once you have a chance to hear it properly. Also as another supplement you can try some phone apps where you can use the same approach.
