...can think of several reasons off the top of my head...I did read once that super glue was smeared over the toilet seat and the man's overweight wife was stuck for days....small kiddies falling into the toilet bowl (toilet training)....going to the toilet in the middle of the dark night and plopping down...and the seat is up....
