yup. most military application is released for civilian use usually after 15-25+ years later.

same thing with GPS and Night Vision goggles (btw - civilian version is about 10 years behind from current generation that army is using)
 
I have a hard time with tall roller coasters. I dont think I could handle this so no, I wouldnt fly on one of these. lol
