hi everyone, i was wondering who here suffers badly from tinnitus? i have moderate to severe bi lateral sensorineural hearing loss, have hearing aids. i have suffered all my life but past few years it has gotten alot worse, nothing seems to help, its so bad and loud sometimes makes any other noise painful and makes me dizzy and headachey. do you guys find anything helps you?

If you search this forum for the thread named "tinnitus" you will see a lot of our stories. Sorry don't know how to post the link.

I suffer with brutal tinnitus, so far have not found anyhing that helps, sorry:-(

Oh thank you for answering I am new to this forum I will try searching:) I asked my audiologist about it last time, she referred me onto some one else but upon ringing and asking I found they were going to be of no help their solution was only for people who have little to no hearing loss that could be fitted with hearing aids or do the music therapy thing, but it's only distracting then from it by drowning it out with other noise. That wouldn't work for us :( mine drowns everything out. Let's hope one day there is a cure :)

I hope you were able to find the thread I was speaking of? Upper right just hit "search" then type "tinnitus". Knowing others deal with this problem was a relief to me. I had sudden, traumatic, total hearing loss. I never get a good night sleep due to tinnitus. I have every loud noise you can think of. Plus it feels like an electrical current is slamming back and forth in my brain. I would give anything for some quiet time.

Yes I have worst to dizzy :( bad worst to neurologist risk told me found worst to increase dizzy for me : I loss balance!

you're right, it def helps to know others suffer this horrid tinnitus as bad what you do. its awful and i too would give anything to be rid of it, i have had hearing loss since birth so have always had tinnitus but its been last few years it has taken a very noticeable increase. i envy but at same time dispize those hearing folk who regulaly attend music concerts and festivals and put them selves at risk for tinnitus and hearing damage, if only they knew what it was like..

Have you been tested for Meniere's or any other hearing problems? I have Meniere's and there is constant tinnitus, dizzy spells and facing hearing loss.
