put a bte in your ear is earmould first, but do you think it would make any difference if you put the bit that goes behind your ear in position first, then see to your earmould?

You mean the hearing aid?

Yes, you would probably pull the tubing apart. The length is cut to fit correctly.

What a strange question? Why do you want to know?

Martyns always asks strange questions!

We just answer as they seem totally harmless.

Maybe he is writing a hearing aid advice book.

I guess it would depend on the earmold. If the earmold was small, then it wouldn't matter. However, if the earmod was big... then putting the earmold in before the hearing aid would probably be easier. :dunno:

Try asking an audiologist. After all, it's not a question that violates the clients' privacy... but more of a general observation question. "Based on your experience with your customers/clients, what percentage would you say that most of them do... (explain each method)?"

No, it's not a strange question. There are - potentially - more than one way of doing most things, and I thought I would pick your brain on this one. Someone I know is on medication for epilepsy and high blood pressure and sometimes they have that for epilepsy first and then the high blood pressure, but it is of no medical consequence which way round which way they have them. In fact, their specialist asked them whether they have their medication on a morning or an evening, and they said "straight after breakfast. Does it make any difference?" - and was told that it didn't. I bet you have been asked far stranger questions by other people! I would not think your hearing aids are raidos for example!

Put them in anyway you want. It really doesn't matter. The way you are suggesting may result in a moment of feedback if they are already turned on but otherwise it should be fine.

I usually put the ear hook over my ear first, then insert my ear mold. I dunno why, but it's easier for me to do it that way. When I am putting my daughters' aids in, I do the same thing, hook first, then molds. I didn't know I was doing it backwards, LOL!

This is incorrect. In my experience hearing aids when turned on (especially digitals that don't have a switch to turn on but instead turn on/off by opening/closing the battery door) *always* feedback unless they are on the ear.
