WHO created (or was credited with), defining deaf people via the 'd' and 'D' ? (there are some early references via Wikipedia (unvalidated), and referred to in 1978).

Please NOTE: do NOT refer to Wiki because THEY have said there is no accreditation via proof they know of. was it an American ? or a Brit ? group or person ?

I wouldn't know who started it.

A lot of people claim credit for it, but I haven't seen where it originated. :dunno:

Probably Dr. Tom Humphries?

Wikipedia is not a definitive source anyways.

Agreed. Humphries has most often been credited with defining the distinction. And, I'd use a source other than Wiki, as well, if I truly wanted an accurrate answer.
