Terp study guide question re: initiation jokes on hearing people?

This is an odd one to me and I was really quite surprised to come across it...

"What are initiation jokes played on hearing people who are new to ASL and the Deaf Community?"

Do you mean like when a Deaf person shows you the wrong signs intentionally? Or when one intentionally gives you, the hearing person, a sign name that is nasty or insulting?

Not sure, but I guess it's kind of like hazing rookies in professional sport. Sometimes they go too far. A joke here and there is ok, but don't go overboard.

I'm sure we (hearing) confuse our signs or grammar enough to produce plenty of unintentionally hilarious wrong meanings on their own without needing to be mocked for our efforts trying to learn.
