I am developing a new product for the deaf population for my senior product design project. I was wondering if you might be able to answer these questions? I would love any and all support!

--------------HEARING LOSS AND SITUATIONAL AWARENESS SURVEY---------


1. What is your age?





2. What age were you when you were diagnosed with hearing loss, the cause?





3. What were some common situations that were uncomfortable for you when you couldn’t hear?





4. Have hearing aids helped in these situations? How have they not helped?





5. What noise environments are still difficult for you to hear in? (i.e. parties, restaurants, etc)





7. Would you be interested in purchasing a device that senses sounds around you that you cannot hear and provides
visual information about that noise environment?





8. What kind of environments would you find this device helpful? Not helpful?






8. What is your most comfortable way to communicate in public? At home? (i.e. ASL, texting, etc)






9. Has hearing loss endangered your life in any way? (i.e. walking into traffic, etc)






10. What kind of device (unmade) would enhance your visual-hearing experience the most that isn’t a hearing aid ?
