what do you think What area of Special Education is most in need of teachers?
share your views...
 
Qualified teachers across the board...there's hardly an area of focus that's not lacking for good instructors.

Well there's a HUGE difference between special ed teachers and TODs. Special ed is general sped. Meaning they focus mostly on learning disabilties (most LDs are dyslexia) and things like ADD......They tend not to have experiance with low incidence stuff like dhh or blind/low vision.
 
Teachers who actually like their job and realize kids need alot of work, especially with special needs. Encouragement and love is needed. Not platonic pat on the backs.
