So glad to be back, I've missed you all!!!

Wow. That's a lot of pressure.

What does your father's cardiolgist will do with his arota valve? To replace it with a plastic aorta valve? (1) If the doctor uses a pig's valve, the pig valve last three to five years without taking a coumadin. (2) An aorta plastic valve (BJORK-SHILEY) last very long time, and it requires to take coumadin daily. Like 30 years or more - its depends...

(Note: Pig is animal.)

Hello Roadrunner!!

Thank you for being so kind and thoughtful. It had been a stressful time, and a disappointing time, especially for Tiger. Put little guy had his new name on the calendar, and when we had to explain it wasn't going to happen, he was sad. But, we all have something to look forward to now. Oh I will always enjoy my stay here on Alldeaf. I really missed it a lot.

Thank you so much!!!

My sister had gone to the heart specialist with my dad to interpret for him, and she said something about taking a vein out of the leg. I wasn't sure if that info was right, so when I took my dad to his regular doctor, for his yearly exam, the doctor had received reports from the cardiologist he did say they would use a plastic valve. There was a mention of coumadin going to be used.

The valve right now is closed, and my dad is having a hard time breathing. He is out of breath quickly when he climbs the stairs, bends over or stretches. So, they need to open it back up again. My father is such an active person, and I know it's going to be hard for him to do nothing all day long while he is recuperating. So, for Christmas, I bought him a DVD player and old classic DVD's. He's a John Wayne and Dorothy Lamour person.

Thank you so much for asking.

Hey CODAchild, sorry to hear about Tiger's adoption, I hope the next three months will be quick so that you'll have your new son with you as soon as possible!

Welcome back though!
Thank you so much Raging Quiet, I hope these next 3 months will go by fast too. We had originally found out in August it would be a December adoption, and now we have to wait again. But, that's alright, patience is a virtue.

Thanks so much Raging!!!

Its so good to see you back here. I've been pretty down about AD lately. It is definetely not the same without you. I'm sorry to hear the adoption did not go as expected, and to hear about your father's surgery. Both, Tiger and you father, will be in my prayers. I hope you can find some time to just calm down and relax. You deserve it more than anyone else. I await the day I see you back here regularly, authoring uplifting, inspirational, and positive posts as you ever have before. Until then, take care of yourself. God bless. :ily:

Oh I see. It is similar to our former President Clinton's surgery. I really hope that your Dad will be fine after the surgery. Although, he might be his brother someday. ;)
