"The Sight of One Hand Waving" is the topic to be presented by Thomas Putney this Sunday at The First Unitarian Universalist Society of Middleborough, 25 South Main St. The service begins at 9 a.m. and will be held in the Parish Hall, which is downstairs.

Religion played a key role in bringing deaf education into modern times. Thomas Putney, a deaf studies major and sign language student who plans to go into ministry, will explore this fascinating chapter of history.

This service may be viewed on Comcast Channel 9 at 4 p.m. most days.

The congregation affirms and promotes the full participation of all persons in its activities welcoming everyone without regard to race, color, gender, physical or mental challenge, age, class, national origin or sexual orientation.
