Not sure if this the right topic to post this, but in serious need of help with trying to figure out what is wrong with my hearing.
I've been HOA since I was 2 y.o. and got my first over the ear HA when i was 6 and been wearing one in my left ear all my life. My right ear doesn't work with HA, but I was doing fine with my left till last Saturday evening. I was just driving with my wife going somewhere when all of a suddenly, my ear was ringing like tinnitus which i have, but it was like 100 times worse and made me dizzy. And then it becomes like i have a loud blower or hair dryer, but really loud inside my ear. It eventually went away but it came back now and then. I thought my HA was acting up and decided wednesday nite not to wear it till I have my hearing aid specialist take a look at it and see if it was the culprit. Today before work, I stopped by and he said it was working fine. I put my hearing aid on and within 10 seconds, a wave of extreme loud ringing overcame my inner ear to the point i got dizzy and slightly disorientated. I took off my HA right away and for the next 5 hours, my ear was ringing and the sound of blowing was non-stop. I cannot wear my HA or else i gotta deal with the ringing and blowing noise inside my ear. On top of that, i cannot hear normally like I have before.
This never happened to me ever, I have not been sick lately and do not have a cold, flu, ear ache, nothing........ My hearing aid specialist took a look inside my ear canal and it's normal. He has no idea what is causing my hearing problem. I will have to go see an Ear, Nose, and throat specialist and hope he/she knows what is the problem.
I was wondering if anyone had experienced this before and knows the cause and treatment to rid of this. By the way, I am 44 y.o., and in good health with high blood pressure. Nothing else.

Hopefully the ENT doctor can successfully diagnosis the trouble.

sounds like worsening tinnitus/recruitment, I suffer from this and a lot of noises bother me when I have my ha's in beacause of it so I don't wear them as often since I just get frustrated

Thanks to all that replied to my post. Still dealing with my ringing/blower problem. Haven't seen a ENT specialist yet hoping it would go away but i was wrong.
For the ones that said recruitment, what the heck is that? and what can be done for it?
Thank you
