Hi All,

My daughter has recently been implanted so her hearing aids are no good for her anymore. We'd like to get her some accessories like the swimming kit etc for her Ci's, but it's quite expensive so we thought we might try and sell her aids to fund some of it. They're only 6 months old. Does anyone know if insurance companies have a tendency to ask for hearing aids back? It would be bad if we were to sell them and then they asked for them back!

All thoughts around the subject welcome.

Every insurance company is different, what Tousi said, go ahead and ask them. The worst that'll happen is they'll say no. Then you can put the hearings on ebay.

Hi A Nihilist and Tousi, Thanks for your replies. I braved asking them today and they said we didn't need to give them back. So that was good news.

List them on eBay. There is a standard medical disclaimer you can find from eBay. This excludes the purchase from needing to be sold in compliance with FDA guidelines. There used to be a bunch of CI Nazi's that would troll eBay for people trying to sell their CI's and accessories. Then report them to eBay. Using the disclaimer you can sell anything that originally required rx/Dr order.
