Not a good situation..I was already having trouble with school and I go back in january..we shall see how it goes:P

Good thing I already have a CI appt in march cuz my hearing aids were already close to being maxed a few months ago..dunno what I'm gonna do now...hearing test on tuesday:) lol

yup still in ottawa...may be moving to london tho next year I wanna go to university of western ontario for my RN

AlicaM-hope your hearing test does indicate the exact status of your hearing-right now
for consideration-implant.
From my experience in the Cochlear Implant determination- a 3 part sequence: audi. physical and the surgeon discussion/decision. My time frame Sunnybrook- Feb 4 to June 20/07. Operation July 12, 2007.
At the moment there is the additional funding for more Implant operations which expires March 31, 2012 ( unless extended)
Hopefully all turns out well for you.

I hope everything for you works out Alicia, I just went back to the Audi a few days ago for a bit of an adjustment for the first time in awhile. Well I went for new ear molds but that was the first adjustment I had in a really long time because I needed to kick it up a bit. Its frustrating =/ But hoping your tests go well.

very frustrating..my tinnitus has been worse too which is annoying for when I'm trying to sleep...I go for a hearing test tomorrow so we shall see how it goes...

Urgh! I sympathize with you about the tinnitus and increased hearing loss as that has been my experience over the last 12 months. After a while the lack of sleep becomes torture. I hope that your situation improves very soon.

Hi Alicia, Good luck to you with your hearing test and hearing in general. I can relate to you. I recently found out I have progressed to the severe/profound range. My tinnitus is 24/7, but worse in the right side. When my new aids are in, not as bad, but always there. I have mixed hearing loss and was quite disturbed to hear that one day all my hearing will be gone due to the nerve damage. How are you handling the emotional aspect of this may be the hearing test that they advise you to see the cochlear specialist next if you want to keep hearing at all? This is what scares me in my future. I also relate to you not having the time to learn ASL due to other responsibilities. I'm a working Mom, but planning to start in January. My child has signing time DVD's and we learn from those together now. Best of luck to you and keep us posted.

So I did lose more hearing 30dB in the right and 10dB in the left ..I knew I did for sure in the right ...have to go see the ENT tomorrow and I still already have my CI appt in march and hoping I can go sooner ..I am now profound in the right which kinda blows cuz school is gonna be even more tricky and they already hate me cuz I'm in a field where I need to use hearing ..ugh fml
