The son of the fortieth president of the United States takes a hard look at the son of the forty-first and does not like what he sees

REALLY IMPORTANT read from the son of Ronald Reagan.

If Ron Jr runs as Democrat or Green Party for President someday in the future, I WOULD vote for him in a heartbeat. Thank Goodness Ron Jr is a liberal. I read his transcript from the Dem convention speech and it was so damn good! Like father, like son, the only difference was political. (Right now Ron Jr does not have any interest in politics, but he can be seen on MSNBC and the Animal Planet channel on TV)

Ronald Reagan really gave us a GIFT with his son.

after reading the ENTIRE article -- i must say it was VERY well written and to the point!!!!

KUDOS to Ron Jr!!!!! :thumb:

well isn't it alittle too late for him to run as president now?

but yeah, he proably would be good use as a president in the future someday

Right now Ron Jr is not interested in running for President because he confessed that he is an atheist and he felt that America is not ready for a President who is an atheist.

I would vote for him atheist or not, but he laid everything out eloquently.

extrdionary and right on the bat this is the man i would have voted for if Kerry wasn't in and not only that if he EVER does this kind of politics he'd be a shoo in for PREZ~!

In a way, being an atheist does have its advantages. We don't have to listen to any religious mumbo jumbo out of our president. As long as he doesn't fight "against" or "for" religion, it's a good idea. I've noticed Bush bringing religion into politics a lot. That's a big no-no! :nono:

Why is it a no-no? Sen. Kerry brought religion into his speech at the DNC last night. Was that a no-no?

Why would we want Ron Reagan Jr as our next President of this country? I think he is one with a lot of problems. I don't believe that his father would have approved if his youngest son should run for President!

I agree. I think his other son, Michael Reagan, would be a better choice.

I agree that Michael would be a better choice if he decides to run for President. :)

Ron Reagan might support Kerry-Edwards but his mom does NOT:

"Nancy Reagan Strongly Endorses President Bush
Phil Brennan, NewsMax.com
Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004
In a statement made Monday to NewsMax.com, Nancy Reagan said she was strongly endorsing President Bush's re-election and rejected a published Internet report that she was not backing his run for a second term...
...By endorsing President Bush’s re-election, Mrs. Reagan joins President Reagan’ elder son, Michael, who has already announced his strong support for the president's re-election."

it's a big no no because Bush is trying to use religion as an excuse for
every bad thing he does to this Country. Bush is a complete waste of
a human life.

^5 bbnt! You hit it right on the nail.

Every time I see Dumbya invoke G-d, I want to go retch at that thought.....

Kerry doesnt wear his faith on his sleeve like Dumbya does.

I think that the President talks about his own religion for himself. He is religious himself. Who can accommodate everyone? There's never going to be a President where he'll agree with everyone. When I hear him mention religion, I am not bothered. I let him say it for himself because he is a human being. Law or not, he is a human being and things come out of his mouth whether people like it or not.

If you don't like him, then vote for Kerry or the Green Party. No one is placing a gun to your head to vote for him. It's your responsibility to make sure that you vote in order for your President to be chosen. I disagree with some of what Bush says in regards to environmental concerns, but I don't make a big deal about who he is. I think people have a problem making his religion a bigger problem than it really is. He never forced religion on anyone. It is only part of who he is. Just brush it off, and we'll have a tad more peace.

He never forced religion on anyone

yes he does, there is a reason church and state are kept separate
and he tries to violate that every chance he gets. To be honest
I don't think he's as religious as he tries to make people believe he is
, but in order to get things done his way he justifies pulling the crap
he does by appealing to people who are religous

ouch one point for bbnt

not everyone believes in what we believe in, so I think it be more apporiate if we have a president who doesn't talk too much about our reglion and focus more on the government and terrorist issues, etc...u name it...

like bbnt said, using reglion is an excuse and to avoid responsiblity of the country and the world...and that's just not right...it's like he's commiting a crime.

How so? I believe he focuses on other issues more than religion. Bush mentions HIS OWN religion words once in a while, but it's not enough to mundane his speeches to the rest of the world.

I am sorry, but I don't see it that way at all. I think some just give it too much importance. It's part of who he is. I wouldn't tell no one to stop saying the word God at all cost because people are human and so is Bush.

No one can avoid me from mentioning my religion in school as long as I don't force my religion to others. There are people out there who are taken aback if you show them you have God in your life. Well, to hell with them. I am free to walk around mentioning God if I want.
