Hi :) I'm hearing but I'm interested in Deaf culture and I 'd like to find out as much as possible about it. (I'm trying to write my thesis about it but it doesn't go too well :( ) I've read somewhere that
'deaf poetry uses hand gestures to symbolize rhymed words'.
Could anyone tell me something more about it because I'm not quite sure how should I understand this...

Do you understand ASL? There was a video blog that illustrated this with a nursery rhyme "Humpty Dumpty." Sorry to say, it's not subtitled. If you do understand ASL, I will go and dig it up for you.

Unfortunately, I don't understand ASL :( Do you think there is any way I could understand how it works (I mean rhyming) without knowing ASL?

You could read books about ASL and deaf culture.

Thanks for help :) I'll try to get them. If anyone could recommend any other sources (especially those available on-line), I'll be very grateful. :)

for ASL poetry and literature, this is the definitive text: [ame=http://www.amazon.com/Signing-Body-Poetic-American-Literature/dp/0520229762/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255191909&sr=8-1]Signing the Body Poetic: Essays on American Sign Language Literature [/ame]

I am happy for references, too; I have some of those but was not aware of the Signing the Body.... one, I would especially love to get that-
