Interesting. I have always had the feeling that a blade of grass is as old as Earth's core, relatively speaking.

I say, that's pretty old!
All I can say is that the oldest matter on earth is at most only six days older than the rest of the matter on earth, so no prize to the "oldest" rock.

The variations in the composition of rocks, their formations, and layers are interesting to look at and study.
