One Child Lost

One child lost, alone with her fears
What is the cost, a lot more than tears
No one sees, no one hears
She's very old in a few short years

What should have been a childs life
Was full of sin, pain, and strife
For one so innocent, young, and sweet
Her life played out on a deserted street

What should have been sweet memories
Would drop a grown man to his knees
She builds a wall, no one can come in
She's safe in there, her own little den

A few bricks fall, she sees where she's been
She doesn't want out, cement them again
Does anyone care, is some one out there
Or am I alone in this house made of stone

One child lost, What is the cost.

Quite a touchy poem there, and a sad one too.... :(

Did you write this poem to someone you once knew?...

Yes Angel,
It is about a little girl I knew.
I wrote it about 20 years ago or so. First time I have put it anywhere to be read. It still tears my heart out.

Aw :( I'm truly sorry to hear that

It does hurt to lose someone you once knew but writing a poem by pouring out your heart to someone means alot, I really do like your poem and Thanks for sharing it too ...

Keeping someone in their memories means alot so I'm sure this girl you knew, knows you are thinking of her....
