NEW limited poll on sexually explicit avatars & signatures

Since alldeaf is a forum and FREELY provided for BY ALEX, out of his OWN POCKET (for this software, bandwidth, space and so on) and ON HIS OWN TIME, I think it is BEST for him to express his own decision on how this should be dealt with. We should be GRATEFUL for his such generousity, not to rumble, argue or bash anybody or this forum on whether this should be that or otherwise. This is the GREAT privilege for us to meet, discuss, influence or to learn from others, WITHOUT CHARGE. In critical reading/writing point of view, polls are not a deciding factor on how policies should be changed or determined, it is just an opinion amongst us. Let's stop beating around the bush and give USEFUL suggestions TO ALEX and leave things up to him. Alex is VERY generous guy who tries to promote the image of deaf population and examplify them to the norms that WE CAN FUNCTION TOGETHER REASONABLY just as effective as the norms.

I would suggest, and I'll go first, that we donate what we can to help support the running of AD and lessen the monetary burden on Alex. I just need an address....

We already have a new poll that was set up today and that poll the member created today is fair and square, This poll is not fair and square I believe this poll thread should be thrown out. Alex said nothing about the Penisarium forum, he is speaking of signatures and avatars. Nobody understands what type of sexual materials that should be allowed.

Hey, I think this poll is too restricted. It seems unfair for everybody IMHO. There are some degrees that can be accepted. What started this heated debate is HOW MUCH is accepted? For example a member had their animated chick with big boobs flying in the air, I would have treated them as PG-rated while others got nude ass with handcuff which is considered PG-13. So which one is really accepted? How far should we go? That is why I have set up a poll which gives degree from absolutely zero (G-Rated) to extremely unrestricted (X-Rated). I hope everybody sees my thread and cast vote without being bashed, and not have to say what they vote on what. I don't care as long as Alex can figure out how much is accepted.
I don't know how this leads to Penisarium section. Penisarium section is to remain there and unmoved. Nobody is forced to peek in penisarium so there is no reason to moan and whine over that section.

Southern/Rebel/Dixie should not offend others.. its a symbol of the southern part of the U.S. you may look at it different like I'm a racist but that's not my purpose. So, I'm proud to be a Rebel

That is why I like DHB's poll much better because it is more clear and there are more options for us to vote in there.

Actually, there is a HUGE difference between posting random sexually explicit material for the purpose of humor or otherwise and posting out of pride. However, as Rebel, I don't have my confederate flag raised here either, simply because I know that there is an overabundance of ignorance on the subject and it could be offensive to some of the more ignorant members of the forum. I do not come to AD merely to offend.

Tousi, if you own your forum, Which do you weight .33% complainers vs. the majority requiring you to revise his AD policy.

Therefore, it is very tiny numerous ADers confronting directly to Alex. It is not very easy task to make a simple decision. He would probably hate to see his members fading away because of the new rules.

I worship no one and I'm trying to pacify this chaos. If we work together and discuss our difference without fighting about it, then there will be something that we can build on rather than to destroy each other.

I am not saying that I do have problem with that.

What would happened if Alex order you to take Southern flag off on your personal avatar mode since you have to follow the "revised" policy because of Eve's complaining. No matter what your taste on avatar or your strong belief on signature.

Sequoia and sweetheart, I already posted where Alex TOLD us to vote on the matter (in the first thread of “Inappropriate Signatures”. He actually wants our input. If he makes his own poll, great! I’m all for it. I’m not trying to step on anyone’s toes here, I must have just misunderstood and thought that he wanted us to make the poll ourselves. We all make mistakes, that isn’t immature, that is HUMAN.
I do have a right to be offended by some of the content here in AD, and from the looks of it, I’m not alone, as it is nearly half the members who have voted so far with the same concern.

Eve, I did not see Alex post in any of your threads. I only saw Linux, Roadrunner and Vampy post in your threads, but not Alex. Why don't you sit back and wait for Alex to respond. I have a feeling it's possible he will be upset because of all the arguing and flaming.

Mod Note: As per VamPyroX's post indicates above.... Be forewarned...we may not be posting in response to what is apparently going around here in AD lately, but we're *watching*.... Although, all the finger-pointing does need to end, which is causing much more drama that isn't neccessary, yet, seeing that IF there is any underlying malicious intent to disrupt AD in such a way or getting members to pit against one another by anyone will surely hear from the Administration/Mod team.

Now wait a minute...I saw Angel's posting ...and had to read the thread where I went off AllDeaf and signing on to this morning - someone created multiple accounts? Why wasn't this noticed earlier? Has the person been banned? I feel that this poll thread should be closed as it was not a honest vote - I'm gonna PM the moderators now about this.
