National Sign Language Week?

Hi AD,

Don't you think it would be cool if there was a holiday
for Sign Language users and admirers?

I would like a National Sign Language Week or a day
to honor all people who use Sign Language or are deaf.

Do you agree?

I'd rather see a National Sign Language Decade....but yeah, it'd be cool.
 
No, a day dedicated to the deaf and hard-of-hearing would be better, then people wouldn't have to scratch their heads and wonder what the heck.
 
That's cool may is Deaf awareness month but I would like
to celebrate the language in its own context, like
A Sign Language Holiday or something where everybody
gets the day off, BUT they are REQUIRED to use Sign
Language that day ;)

Now that would be cool...

As soon as you do that then the deafies that don't sign will feel left out. I vote for deaf awareness which may include all.
 
I think that since learning Sign Language is so beneficial
to people if they are deaf OR hearing, it doesn't matter, so
we should have holiday for ASL itself..
 
"Hear, hear!"... wow now there's an oxymoron!... Yeah, we need a holiday for ASL!!!
