Nope, they are not rare. A common pet lizard in the United States. They are native to Afgan and Pakistan in the desert basin.

Yes and mealworms, superworms and occassional waxworms. I feed them powdered with calicum with vitamin D (they need it in their diet) on the food twice a week or so.

Yes, they do kinda the same thing like cats do. stalk and then strike when hunting for food. That's what they do when they hunt for fast moving bugs in the wild. They do that on crickets mostly.
