my lated deafen mother has just lost her best friend help

Hi

My mother is late deafen and is very AV. She hasn't got HAs yet. Doesn't even like gesture or admitting she speechreads. Can barely listen(I suspect CAPD).And lost her very best friend. I suck at dealing with grief or grief stricken persons(who can communicate freely)

And we live in the same house

Help please
