I've seen those types of bulbs at places like Spencer's.

When doing those kinds of things, they advise you to put a cup of water in the corner of the microwave to have something to absorb some of the microwaves so the magnetron that generates it doesn't get busted from having too much reflected back to it from inside the oven.

I once put a regular light bulb into my parents' microwave to see the light show. Some months later, it went bust and they got a new one. I don't know if there was any connection.
