microsoft looking to buy some companies (link)

whoooa MS going on another buying spree?!

I'd pick Bizarre Creations (creators of the Project Gotham Racing series), Pandemic (Full Spectrum Warrior and Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction) and BioWare Corp (makers of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and MS's Jade Empire) for MS to acquire in order to expand their xbox/xbox next game developer base.

perhas microsoft should buy the Rockstar games company (famous for the Grand Theft Auto series) Capcom (famous for the Resident Evil series) and of course...Nintendo! (famous for Mario, Metroid, and Zelda series)

Nintendo ain't for sale. Yes, Microsoft has made such offers, but they were turned down.

those companies must be sissies.

aw well...what about acclaim? since that company is going bank rupted and would be pretty dead soon if they don't release anymore games this year...

Microsoft could also try Silicon Knights, who did "Eternal Darkness" and "MGS : Twin Snakes" for Nintendo's GameCube but the company is no longer exclusive to Nintendo as now it is indepent and can make any games for any consoles as they want...but what if they want to be owned by Micosoft, eh?

Did you know that Rockstar and its Rockstar North (ex-DMA Studios) and Rockstar San Diego (formerly Angel Studios) developer units are completely under the Take-Two Interactive banner?

Go over there. http://www.take2games.com/ If ol' Bill wants to grab Rockstar, he would have to take 2K Games, Gathering, and Global Star as part of package deal.

Nintendo? forget it. Capcom? I would go for the acquisition of Capcom 'cause MS need a strong Japanese development house based in Japan. Capcom's good development record would be an asset, as the xbox is taking a real bad beating out there.

But I am focusing more on BioWare because they make damn good RPG's like Star Wars KOTOR, Neverwinter Nights, and now the xbox exclusive Jade Empire. BioWare has more RPG experience that MS and xbox sorely needed in order to beat SquareEnix and Sony at the RPG game scene.

The Legend of Zelda... Xbox Live... The Best Game Ever...

But will it ever happen? Unlikely.

Actually, Microsoft already had managed to get a bunch of guys from Square Enix for several upcoming Japanese-style RPG games.

So, don't be surprised if Microsoft make some hard punches to the competitors at the upcoming E3.

Actually, I believe Nintendo was trying to dump Rareware onto someone else. A good move for Nintendo actually, no offense. Rareware was just getting onto their nerves with all the projects getting delayed 50 times before finally getting released.

I hate when Microsoft does that! It loses the legacy of the company and loyality of customers, too. Microsoft would buy them out just to force Xbox to compet with Playstation and Gamecube and all that, pretty stupid isn't it? :P
