McCain in emergency donation plea

Actually, politics aside, and looking at our current deficit and all the hidden earmarks, I would think they would have to increase the tax....I just don't see a way around it....

Obama broke his word about accepting funds. Is that who you want to run the economy?

Do you want someone who chants "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran" running this country? Do you want someone who voted with George W.Bush over 90% of the time running our economy with the same broken policies?

Taken out of context. Families making under 250,000 will not see a tax increase. Those making $175,000-$150,000 will see a decrease. Two very different concepts, and consistent with the tax plan that Obama has laid out all along. People really need to stop taking a sentence or two out of context and attempting to twist the meaning. Listen to the whole message. You will be much better informed, as well as better able to support any point you should wish to make.

I wouldn't hold my breath because some people just will never get it.

To them, Democrat = Evil Socialist and Republican = Savior.

Let them be. It takes more than 8 years of broken policies to influence them and the rest of us are not willing to spend another 4 years wading through shit.

Some Republicans are obviously blinded by their own ignorance.

...or chants "Drill, baby drill."

That's *exactly* what McCain supporters want. As I mentioned in the post above, they're blinded by their own ignorance and refuse to see/accept the truth for what it really is.

I don't think it would be impossible to lower taxes given our current deficit, but that remains to be seen.

What many people tend to forget is that we had a surplus by the time Clinton was done and instead of attributing it to him, Republicans gave credit to Ronald Reagan of all the people.

What do you expect? St. Ronnie can do no wrong in the eyes of the Republicans.

No Republican would ever admit the good things Clinton has done for our country -- even if their lives depended on it.

Quite true. But who is usually the first to complain about partisan politics?

Care to elaborate?
"Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama said Thursday he'll bypass the federal public financing system in the general election, abandoning an earlier commitment to take the money if his Republican rival did as well.

"...Fred Wertheimer, president of the campaign finance watchdog group Democracy 21, said he was "disappointed" in Obama's decision. 'We do not agree with Senator Obama's rationale for opting out of the system,' he said. 'Senator Obama knew the circumstances surrounding the presidential general election when he made his public pledge to use the system.'

"...Last year, both Obama and McCain indicated in separate commitments that they would participate in the public system for the general election, as long as both candidates agreed.

"In response to a questionnaire in November from the Midwest Democracy Network, which is made up of nonpartisan government oversight groups, Obama said: 'Senator John McCain has already pledged to accept this fundraising pledge. If I am the Democratic nominee, I will aggressively pursue an agreement with the Republican nominee to preserve a publicly financed general election.'"
