Hi, I'm Mandy from Maryland, I'm 17, and I live about an hour away from DC. I'm from Gaithersburg, and I have a twin brother. We are a week apart. (We were both premature)

I came here to AllDeaf because I have wanted to learn ASL since I was ten, and have learned about the language and culture from many books and online resources from libraries or websites like Lifeprint. I finally enrolled in a formal class and now I can really learn!I am hearing, but I have relatives who are HOH.

I also am interested in teaching Literature at Maryland School for the Deaf when I am older, if anyone has any idea how I can start to achieve this goal, your help would be appreciated.

I look forward to developing my knowledge on Sign Language and Deaf Culture.
