For this kind of dinosaur, they found male dinosaur bones around the nests and also compared the mass ratios of adult bodies to egg clutch mass for the dinosaurs and modern animals. The ratio best matches the birds of today that have fathers taking care of the nest. This would allow females to go off to find food high in calcium needed to lay eggs.
