make up/cosmetic for ladies (make up or not).

I wear NO make up at all! For alot of reasons...

1. I hate the greasy feel of it.

2. People have told me I look good without it.

3. I honestly cannot see to put it on. I wear glasses. Once I take my glasses off, I can't see well enough to apply eye make up, so I just don't.

4. It's a pain to apply.

5. It makes my face itch

6. I HATE IT!!!

I stopped wearing make up when I was 15. I only will wear it on very special occasions. The last time I wore any make up was at my sister's wedding nearly 8 yrs ago.

I prefer girls who wear least makeup, because they usually don't have to spend half a day applying the makeup..:)

As for guys that wear makeup... Awful... But, each to their own I suppose...

I don't think there is anything wrong with wearing make-up. Make-up is used to accentuate your natural beauty.

Just like a home...why not leave it all plain? Colors accentuates a home beauty. Decorations accentuates a room beauty. If you like it, so be it. Not everyone has smooth spotless skin, so make-up can help someone feel better about themselves. There are certain women who avoid make-up at all cost because they haven't a clue how to apply it properly or select the proper make-up for them.

There are a few people that I think could use a bit of advice such as sometimes women wear too much black eyeliner around the eye making it look small and too much concentration on the eye area rather than the whole beauty of the face. Sometimes I think certain women could use fixing themselves up and adding a bit of make-up.

This is not about making everyone celebrity look alike...it's about having etiquette like the 50's women who dressed nice and added some make-up to accentuate their natural beauty if it would help. That's my opinion. How much make-up to wear is different to each women. Some women can do great with just lipstick and powder. Just like clothes, you have to find what flatters your body.

What I think I see that makes celebrity so different from their own is mostly the eye make-up. The eye make-up opens up their eyes making them look gorgeous.

It's easy to diss make-up when you have flawless skin.

For God's sakes! Beauty comes from the inside out, not the reverse. The better you take care of your skin, the better your appearance while using makeup only to compliment it. Any more, they will be qualified for the rodeo clown application! LOL

You are very ignorant. You have no clue about skin care. Sometimes it's not easy to fix a skin problem no matter what you do dermatology or not.

Okay, so beauty comes from the inside. That's so easy to say. There's still nothing wrong with a bit of beauty on the outside if you'd like to wear make-up. To me, it's the same as clothes wanting to flatter the way you are.

Who cares if women want to wear make-up? It's been here a long time. Just let them choose to wear or not to wear make-up.

I don't think the word here is ignorance, of course caring for facial complications can be difficult if they are not knowledgeable in what needs to be done to clear their skin up. Thats where dermatologists come in. Covering up facial complications sounds ignorant of their health to me, but yes, its a free country. Apply as you desire, but thats not my preference to see a woman in. Note: ONLY my opinion!

The goal of makeup is to enhance the desirable features and hide the less desirable features. The right amount and application of makeup should improve the appearance without being obvious. People should be able to look at a woman's face and think that she looks nice, not that the makeup looks nice. Good makeup does its job without being obvious.

I don't use foundation because it's so hot and humid here. My skin is dry, so I do use a moisturizer with sunscreen. I use some eye liner, mascara, and eyebrow pencil because without them I have invisible eyes. Now that I'm older, my natural lashes are thin, and my eyebrows have white hairs. I don't like my eyes to be naked. Also, my lips are pale, so I like some color and shine for them, and enough cheek color so people won't ask me if I'm alive.

When I was younger I didn't need as much makeup. I used to get a tan. But now I see the wrinkle damage from the sun, so I'm more careful about sun exposure.

I agree. In fact the better you take care of your body, your spirit, and your mind...the better your whole self would look. Of course there are some people with skin disorders and skin types that may need help from a specialist...but most of us can simply just drink plenty of water, keep ourselves healthy, and as a result, the beauty within will just shine out. But also people who are inside very caring, loving, and kind - are the most beautiful people. I've met people who were beautiful on the outside...but they were just not beautiful because they were so self-centered. It is a geniune find when a person is beautiful inside and out.

I used to wear make up when i was young.. I thought it was cool thing.. but till i kissed someone and i tasted the make up.. after that i NEVER wear them again..

it also do make my face itch .. its greasy and ugh.. so i dont wear them anymore...

i do wear them for the pictures using eye shadow and mascara and lip gloss.. thats it..

for every day .. i only wear lip balm thats it.. :)

alot of people said i look good without make up due to the natural looks.. my cheeks already have the blush look.. so not need any... :)

here is a picture of me that was taken in 2006...

I agree with you Reba.

Finding the right make-up can help not to have the greasy feel. It should not have to feel like a mask, but the thing is that it's tricky to find it. There are natural make-up that do not have chemicals in it. Mineral Make-up is supposed to be good for your skin.

I have just noticed that there is a growing number of mineral makeup out there..

which are good??

i looked up online and found the reviews of one major line called Bare Minerals. Read their reviews and see what you think?

i live here in Arkansas. here is humid and i SWEAT. so that is out of question to wear one. LOL... too bad.. hehe.. but still i wouldnt wear them anyway.. :)

I use Bare Minerals sometimes. Mostly to take the "shine" off my nose, add a light blush to my cheeks, and make a smooth base for eye shadow. I first learned about Bare Minerals at a college cosmetology aesthetics class about make-up application.

We should have a makeup/hair section on AD maybe for makeup tutorials or hair tutorials.. :) different looks different tricks :)would be cool i think :)
